Gutter Repair and Installation in Purcell

We put up new gutters made on site, repair runs that sag or drip, and place downspouts so roof water drains well clear of your home. After a big storm we look at the gutters and the roof together, since hail dents, loose hangers and clogs usually come as a set.

When gutters are the right fix

Gutters have one job. They carry roof water to a spot where it can't hurt your home. When they sag, overflow or pull loose, that water drops along the foundation, soaks the fascia boards and splashes back onto the siding. Central Oklahoma's spring downpours dump a lot of water on a roof in a short time, so small gutter problems show up fast.

Some gutters only need a repair. A few new hangers, a resealed corner, a downspout put back where it belongs. Others are rusted through, pitched wrong from day one, or too small for the roof above them. We tell you which kind you have and why, and we show you photos of what we found.

Gutters and the roof edge work as one system, so we look at both. If the drip edge or fascia behind the gutter is soft, we say so before anything new goes up.

What our gutter work covers

New aluminum gutters made on site

Our machine forms each gutter in one continuous piece, cut to the length of that eave. With no joints along the run, there are fewer spots for leaks to start. We size every run to the roof area that feeds it.

Downspouts and extensions

Downspouts go where the water can actually get away, which isn't always where the old ones sat. Extensions or splash blocks move the flow out from the foundation.

Repairs and resealing

We take care of loose hangers, dripping corners and end caps, and runs that hold water. Anything worth saving gets refastened, resealed or re-sloped.

Fascia and drip edge checks

We check the board behind the gutter before anything goes up. Rotted fascia is replaced so the hangers bite into solid wood.

Hail and wind damage

Dented runs, bent corners and downspouts torn loose by wind. We take photos so you have a record for your insurance company and explain how a claim usually plays out.

Cleanup

Old gutters, screws and scrap leave with us. Before we go, we sweep the yard and driveway with a magnet.

Signs your gutters need work

Water pouring over the edge
If rain spills over the front lip during a storm, the water has nowhere to go. Usually that means packed leaves, a gutter too narrow for the roof above it, or a run that tilts away from the downspout instead of toward it.
Sagging or pulling loose
When a section droops or leans away from the eave, the hangers or the wood behind them have given out. Every heavy rain adds weight and makes it worse.
Stains or peeling paint under the eaves
Dark streaks on the fascia or soffit mean water is getting behind the gutter. Left alone, that wood goes soft and rots.
Puddles or washouts by the foundation
Our clay soil swells when wet and shrinks as it dries. Roof water dumping in one spot next to the walls makes that swing worse, so standing water there is worth fixing.
Rust, cracks or split seams
Old steel gutters rust from the inside out. Drips at the seams on a dry day usually mean the joints have failed.
Dents after a hailstorm
Dinged gutters and downspouts are some of the easiest hail damage to spot from your yard. If you see them, get the roof checked too.

How a gutter job goes

  1. 1

You call and describe the problem

Let us know what's going on, like overflow, a drooping section or dents after a storm. We pick a time to come take a look.

  2. 2

We look over the roof edge

We measure the runs, check the slope and the fascia, and mark the best downspout spots. Photos come with it, so you see what we saw.

  3. 3

A written estimate in your hands

Every piece of the job is broken out on its own line. It shows what we'll repair, what we'll replace and the reason for each.

  4. 4

    Install day

Most homes take about a day. We form the gutters right in your driveway, hang them on hidden hangers and send hose water down each run to test the flow.

  5. 5

    Walk-through and cleanup

We walk around your home with you, point out where the water drains now, and leave the yard picked up.

What moves the price of gutters

Gutters are hard to price over the phone. We need to see your home first. What we can do is explain the parts that push the number up or down, and our written estimate shows each one on its own line.

Footage and roof height
The total run of gutter along your eaves is the starting point. Second-story eaves mean taller ladders, more setup and slower work than a ranch-style home.
Gutter size
Wider gutters cost more per foot. Large or steep roof sections often need them so a heavy rain doesn't spill over the edge.
Downspouts, elbows and corners
Each downspout, elbow and corner piece adds material and labor. A roof with many angles and valleys has more of these than a simple gable.
Fascia condition
Soft or rotted boards behind the gutter have to be replaced before new hangers go in. We won't know how much until we're up there looking.
Fix or replace
Repairing a few bad spots costs much less than new gutters around the whole roof. We tell you plainly which one your gutters need.

Gutter questions we hear

Should I get new gutters when I replace my roof?
A lot of the time, yes. The gutters usually come down anyway so the drip edge can be replaced, and new gutters fit a new roof edge better. If yours are still in good shape, we can put them back up. We talk this through when we price a roof replacement.
Can you repair just the section that leaks?
Yes, as long as the rest of the gutter is solid. Bad corners, loose hangers and leaking end caps are everyday fixes. If the metal is rusted through or the slope is off along the whole run, a patch won't last, and we'll be honest about that.
Does insurance cover gutters dented by hail?
That depends on your policy and what the adjuster sees. Gutter dents are often part of the same hail claim as the roof. We take photos of the damage and walk you through how claims usually go, but the adjuster decides what's covered.
How big should my gutters be?
Five-inch gutters are what most homes in the area have. Bigger or steeper roof sections may call for six-inch gutters and larger downspouts to keep up in a downpour. We size each run on its own instead of using one size everywhere.
How long does it take to put up new gutters?
Most jobs wrap up in about a day. Bigger homes, or jobs where fascia has to be replaced first, can run longer. We don't hang gutters in heavy rain or strong wind.
Does someone have to be at home while you work?
No, not for the whole job. We just need to get around the outside of your home and have room to park the gutter machine. We do like to walk the finished work with you at the end.
