Roof Repair in Purcell, OK

A leak, a bare spot after a windy night, or a stain spreading on the ceiling. We find what's actually letting water in, fix it right, and tell you straight how much life the rest of your roof has left.

When a repair is the right call

Most roofs don't need replacing when something goes wrong. A few shingles torn off by wind, a cracked pipe boot, or flashing that pulled loose at a chimney can all be fixed without tearing off the whole roof. We find the cause, fix it, and show you what we did.

Getting it handled soon matters. A small leak that drips into the attic for a few weeks soaks the insulation, stains drywall and can rot the decking under the shingles. That's how a simple repair turns into a bigger one. If your roof is near the end of its life and a patch would only buy a few months, we'll say so and talk you through roof replacement instead.

After spring hail or a hard Oklahoma wind, it's tempting to wait and see. We'd rather you get a straight answer and decide from there.

What our roof repair covers

Leak tracing
Water rarely comes in right above the stain on your ceiling. It runs along the decking and rafters first. We check the attic and the roof surface and follow it back to where it actually gets in.
Shingle replacement
We replace missing, creased or cracked shingles and match them as closely as we can to what's already on your home. Lifted shingles get resealed so the next gust doesn't take them.
Flashing and pipe boots
Most leaks we see start at a joint, not in the middle of the roof. We reseal or replace flashing at chimneys, walls and valleys. Rubber pipe boots that have cracked in the sun get swapped out.
Soft decking
When water has turned the plywood soft, that piece gets removed and fresh decking goes down in its place. Only then do the shingles go back on. Nails driven into rotten wood won't hold.
Vents and ridge cap
Damaged roof vents and ridge cap get repaired or replaced so the attic can breathe and the peak of the roof stays sealed.
Photos of the work
We photograph what we found and what we fixed. You see the work you're paying for without climbing a ladder.

Signs your roof needs repair

  • Stains on the ceiling

Brown rings or bubbling paint on a ceiling or upper wall almost always mean water is getting in somewhere above. Check after the next rain to see if they grow.

  • Shingles in the yard

If you find pieces of shingle on the lawn after a storm, there's a bare spot up top. Exposed felt won't keep water out for long.

  • Grit at the downspouts

A pile of shingle granules at the bottom of your gutters means the shingles are wearing thin or took hail. It's worth a look before they start leaking.

  • Damp or daylight in the attic

Wet insulation, dark spots on the wood, or light showing through the boards point to a problem you can fix now for less trouble than later.

  • Curled or cracked shingles

Shingles that cup, curl or split in the summer heat stop sealing against each other, and wind gets under them.

  • Drips near the chimney

Water around a chimney, skylight or vent usually means the flashing or sealant has failed.

How a repair job goes

  1. 1

You call and tell us what you see

Tell us what's going on and when it started. We set a time to come out and look.

  2. 2

We check it from both sides

One of us climbs up to look at the shingles and flashing, and if there's an attic hatch we can get to, we check underneath too. Then you get photos and a plain rundown of the problem and the fix.

  3. 3

    You get a written estimate

Before any work starts, you get a line-item estimate. Nothing gets added that we haven't talked through with you.

  4. 4

    We make the repair

We protect your landscaping and lay tarps where debris will fall. Many repairs wrap up in a single visit, weather permitting.

  5. 5

    Cleanup and walk-through

Torn-off shingles and scrap flashing leave with us, not in your trash can. A magnetic sweeper goes over the lawn, flower beds and driveway to pick up stray nails. Then we walk you around the finished work.

What affects the cost of a roof repair

We can't price a repair sight unseen. The damage you notice from the ground is often only part of the story. After we've been on the roof, your estimate breaks the job into separate lines, so every charge has a reason next to it. Here's what usually pushes the number up or down.

How much is damaged
Replacing a handful of shingles is a smaller job than redoing a whole slope or valley. We measure what actually needs work.
What's under the shingles
Soft or rotted decking has to come out and be replaced. We won't know for sure until the shingles are lifted, and we'll show you photos if we find it.
Pitch and height
A steep roof or a two-story home takes more safety setup and more time on the roof.
Matching materials
Older or discontinued shingles can take more effort to match. Replacing metal flashing costs more than resealing it, but it lasts longer.
Timing after a storm
Right after hail or high wind, material demand goes up across the area. Getting on the schedule early helps.

Roof repair questions

Something not covered here? (405) 422-9816

Is a repair enough, or is it time for a whole new roof?

In most cases, fixing the damaged area does the job. If the shingles are worn out on every slope, or new trouble keeps turning up each time we're up there, a patch won't last. We'll show you photos and tell you plainly which one you're dealing with and why.

Will the new shingles match my roof?

We match brand, style and color as closely as we can. Shingles fade in the sun, so new ones may look a little brighter at first. On older roofs with discontinued shingles, we'll show you the closest options before we start.

Will insurance pay for my roof repair?

That comes down to two things: how the damage happened and what your policy says. Hail and wind damage that hits all at once is often covered. Wear from age and weather over the years usually is not. We take photos of the damage and can walk you through how a claim works, but the adjuster decides what gets paid. You'll find more on our Storm Damage Repair page.

Do I need to be home while you work?

Not for the repair itself, since all the work is outside. It helps if you're there for the first visit so we can check the attic and walk you through what we found.

Can you cover the roof until the repair is done?

Yes. If weather or materials hold up the repair, we can tarp the damaged area to keep water out in the meantime.

Do you repair roofs outside Purcell?

We do. We work in Purcell and nearby towns including Noble, Goldsby, Blanchard, Norman and Lindsay.
